Putting housing experience to good use
January 23rd, 2009 by admin
As a real estate agent, I am pretty much used to figuring out if a house has some sort of hidden problems. After all, if the selling price seems to good to be true, it probably is. So I do some inspections on my own since I have already caught a lot of other problems with the houses I sold before. Definitely, the first thing that I check for is if the house is already in need of some sort of foundation repair. Not only can this make or break the house, but I am more worried about the potential safety hazards that could come about because of this. For me, the hardest thing to check is if the house needs crawl space foundation repair. While I do appreciate the concept of the crawl space, this is such a big hassle to investigate!
Having gotten the investigations out of the way, I’m sure that you will have found some portions of the house which need some sort of rehabilitation. In my experience, the older houses usually need some fixing in their foundations — mostly because the environment they are in is not that cooperative. That is why I have a couple of foundation repair contractors on my speed dial list.
